In March 2018, the ‘Monument-Ratschlag’ (Monument Advice) was launched with the aim to involve the CUCULA alumni – who are now doing apprenticeships – in the planning of the association’s events and future projects. It is about sewing connections across the Northern and Southern borders and bringing different realities of life into a reflected context.
There is a lot of talk about refugees, their situation and their stories, but there is little room and opportunity for them to actively and creatively place their ideas and topics or to discover their role in society.
Their own observation of the status quo, the coherences between fleeing and the situations in their countries of origin, as well as their authentic experiences in Germany play an important role in the project work. The ‘Monument-Ratschlag’ discusses current topics and advises on the planning of future projects.
